IT Training

Considering where to get information on IT training is a good start to upping your computer related skills.

IT Training is arguably one of the most useful things you can do to improve your job prospects, or get ready for a new career.

Research has shown that as we progress through the early half of the 21st Century, unskilled jobs will become fewer and fewer in number. Already in the U.K., even with the onset of the economic downturn, skill jobs are still plentiful. It’s unskilled jobs that are having a worse time of it.

And as things pick-up and the jobs market gets back to previous levels, skills will be in great demand. Bear in mind that whatever job you have, or hope to have, computers and IT are involved in some way.

Think about the average office and you will see why IT training is just so crucial. Lets say four workstations and some office equipment spread about. You can bet that each work station will have a computer. Now an average desk top these days has more computing power than the large main frames of the 1980s. It will be a portal onto the world wide web and have applications that will allow you to write and process complicated word documents; prepare sophisticated slide presentations; create detailed spreadsheets; build huge databases; and, plan major logistical events. The computer will allow you to send emails back and forth to colleagues and other contacts. On the desk will most probably be a phone, which with it’s own small on-board computer, will allow you to choose from hundreds of numbers, set up conference calls and keep track on call times.

Around you might be fax machines which can do a hundred and one things as well as send a fax, and complicated photocopiers that can not only copy, but sort, staple and pack your copies. Even the coffee machine might have a small processor which allows you to choose the best Espresso going. And that’s now, just think about the future and what that might hold.

In short, the office will be humming with computer power and IT solutions. If you’re nervous of the concept of IT, or computers, a typical office will seem like a strange, alien environment.

So do yourself a favour and get IT trained.
